Word of Welcome with Presentation from the Cultural Sambura Group Kuwanowano
Dr. Renzo Duin lectures on the Soundscapes of the Karina and Wayana
Focus is on several instruments during specific rites of passage among the indigenous Carib communities of the Maroni River. These instruments will have been performed by the Kuwanowano group. The flute and ground drum of th Wayana will be introduced.
Followed by Q&A session with the group and Dr. Duin.
